Inwood Shakespeare

is Not an oxymoron!

For a number of years the Inwood neighborhood has been blessed with a series of performances by a group of actors who call themselves The Inwood Shakespeare Festival. On June 24, 2001, the RING was proud to host an evening of readings that included exerpts from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, several sonnets. There was also a reading of Garcia Lorca’s "Romance Sonambulo" as well as a performance of several Spanish folksongs arranged by Federico Garcia Lorca. In addition there was a performance of original music inspired by "As You Like It". The entire performance lasted approximately 90 minutes and the garden was packed, some say 60 people watched. The RING warmly extends an invitation to Inwood Shakespeare Festival to come and grace our lawn again.
